2017 Annual HUMA DinnerApril 15th, 2017, 5:30pm
Wasserstein Hall, Harvard Law School
The Harvard University Muslim Alumni (HUMA) welcomes you to the 7th annual Reunion Dinner! All Harvard affiliates (alumni, students, faculty, etc) and family are invited. HUMA is always excited to see our community grow so all children under the age of 12 attend gratis. Please book your ticket early to avail yourself of our early bird ticket price!
Come reconnect with old friends and meet other Harvard Muslims! The annual dinner brings HUMA members from across the globe to a single venue, building a strong Harvard Muslim community to further HUMA's long-term mission: facilitating professional networking and mentoring, supporting the Muslim community on campus, helping students access Harvard, etc.
Our keynote speaker is Sara Minkara, founder and chief executive officer of Empowerment through Integration (ETI), a nonprofit focused on providing programs to support individuals with visual impairments. She was featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for social entrepreneurs and is recipient of The Clinton Global Initiative Outstanding Commitment Award, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology IDEAS Global Challenge Award, and Margaret Freeman Bowers Award. We are excited to have her joining us!
We are also expanding the weekend activities to provide HUMA members with an additional opportunity to connect with other alumni and current students for a mentoring and networking event. Stay tuned for new announcements!
Reception & Mixer: 5:30pm-6:30pm
Sunday Agenda - details TBD
Who is invited?
We are honored to welcome alumni, students, faculty members, research fellows, and staff of any of the Harvard schools (e.g. Harvard Business School), Harvard-affiliated hospitals (e.g. Mass General Hospital), and other Harvard-affiliated institutions (e.g. Rowland Institute).
Is there a networking session?
We know dinner is just not enough for connecting with old friends and getting to know new ones. We plan for this weekend to be a chance to meaningfully connect with other HUMA members. A mixer will take place before the dinner, starting at 5:30pm. Please be sure your information is entered correctly when reserving your ticket as we will use that to make badges
Will there be awesome food?
The HUMA board takes food seriously, and we strive to pick the best caterers we can from the Boston area every year.
Can I bring my family? Will there be babysitting?
You can absolutely bring your family! We are looking into child care services and will announce details closer to the event. The dinner, as with all HUMA events, is very kid friendly, and entry is free for children 12 and under.
