2019 Annual HUMA Dinner

April 27th, 2019, 8:00pm - 10:00pm
pin Northwest Science Building 52 Oxford St, Cambridge, MA

HUMA welcomes all Harvard affiliates (alumni, students, faculty, etc) for our 9th annual alumni dinner! You can find tickets on eventbrite.

Reconnect with old friends and meet other Harvard Muslims; the annual dinner brings HUMA members from across the globe to a single venue, building a strong Harvard Muslim community to further HUMA's long-term mission: facilitating professional networking and mentoring, supporting the Muslim community on campus, helping students access Harvard, and improving Islamic scholarship at Harvard. This year's dinner is held jointly with the student community for a One Harvard event unifying alumni and students together.

Our keynote speech this year will be given by Dr. Shireen Al-Adeimi (HGSE 2018), assistant professor at Michigan State University. Since 2015, Al-Adeimi has been raising awareness about the conflict in her country of birth, Yemen, advocating for an end to U.S. involvement in the war, and fundraising for those impacted by the humanitarian crisis. Her writing on Yemen has appeared in In These Times, NBC, and elsewhere, and she has been interviewed by various media outlets including NPR’s Democracy Now!, PRI’s The World, and NBC’s Why Is This Happening.
